Design-Build:
HVAC Systems Modification
 Owner: Stellex Monitor Aerospace, Inc.
Location: Amityville, New York
GFPDC provided the design, construction and installation
services necessary to modify and upgrade the HVAC systems at the
Stellex Monitor Aerospace, Inc.'s 240,000 s.f. manufacturing plant
in Amityville, New York. Because of the 5 acre expanse of the roof
area, a helicopter was used to facilitate the placement of the HVAC
units.
HVAC System Modifications:
- Removed existing rooftop units, exhausters, and wall
louvers
- Provided and installed seven new 138-ton rooftop
energy recovery units on new structural steel supports tied into
the existing framing of facility
- Replaced well water coils with DX refrigeration coils
and installed a condenser adjacent to two remaining AC units
- Sealed off all unused roof openings
- Installed supply and return ducts for each rooftop
unit
- Provided a third utility transformer to feed new
HVAC loads
- Provided separate distribution system to feed new
HVAC system
